Re-Igniter with Valve Control (RIV 120M-4)

The Re-Igniter with Valve control (RIV) provides an intermittent/interrupted Direct Spark Ignition system for use with
natural, manufactured, mixed Liquefied petroleum gases, and LP gas–air mixtures. Product is classified as an Automatic Gas Ignition System and is particularly suitable for use in gas appliances such as cooktops.

The gas flow in the cooktop is enabled by an electrically actuated gas valve controlled by the RIV. The RIV monitors the flame presence at each burner and commences sparking at all burners if any flame fails. An in-built delay of about one second between loss of flame sense and commencement of sparking on re-ignition eliminates nuisance sparking if the flame is low and wavering.
