The Tytronics Hot Surface Re-igniter (HSR) is a new re-ignition system for gas appliances that provides individual burner ignition and flame sensing control using an industry standard hot surface “glo-bar” igniter. The Tytronics HSR has been developed to provide quick, quiet and reliable ignition within 2 to 3 seconds.

For extra safety low voltage 24V hot surface igniters are used.

Reliable Flame Sensing
Flame sensing is achieved using the Tytronics patented flame rectification sensing method as used in its industry leading “Blue Box” re-igniter range. Tytronics' innovative electronics uses the glo-bar not only as the ignition source but also as the flame sense probe, reducing the complexity of the appliance design.

Low Power Usage and extended hot surface igniter life
Tytronics' HSR flame sensing feature means that the glo-bar is only powered when required. This greatly reduces the power required to operate the appliance because each glo-bar draws between 20 to 30W. Also, according to a leading glo-bar manufacturer, removing power to the glo-bar extends its life.
